We entrust failure to grow us forward

wImagine Advancement advances people, by advancing science and critical thinking into creating solutions which create a love driven world. We believe that when we move — by asking questions and applying knowledge — we move other people with us.

Our Tech Stack

wImagine partners with public school teachers through Donors Choose. At wImagine, we directly support STEM projects & projects to benefit the lives of those with Autism in the Northeast area, with preference going to teachers in Camden, Philadelphia, and low income cities in the Northeast region.

Changing Today

Education’s greatest sin is when it was trapped in four walls and was called school. Society only improves when education is freed from the building and released into the world. The ultimate act of Academics is to apply what you know, and work with what you got, to solve real problems in the real world.

We were built to learn. We must seek knowledge and truth through all that we do because that is how our society improves. Also, we must not be so engrossed in one field that we lose sight on how our planet is a team. We must learn together for when we do, we will work together, and we will succeed together

He who opens a school door, closes a prison door

— Victor Hugo

Changing Tomorrow

Knowledge is a variable, not a constant. We live in a dynamic world where new discoveries are being made everyday, especially in the field of technology & science. We will always adapt to change, even if we must re-think the universe, because the only way to stay ahead, is to begin ahead of the game.

We recognize that to reach the people nobody’s reaching, you gotta do the things nobody is doing. We recognize that wImagine began by a spout of critical thought, wondering what is the meaning of life. We will always embrace the process of critical thinking so that we don’t lose what makes us human.

If you accept the expectations of others, especially negative ones, then you never will change the outcome.

— Michael Jordan

wImagine partners with Urban Promise by creating programs, schools, and facilities in Camden, NJ to reach underprivileged youth. Urban Promise focuses on spiritual, academic, and STEM needs. In addition to that, they help students forge forward by providing career advancement opportunities in the Arts, Culinary Arts, STEM, and Leadership fields.

wImagine partners with the Electronic Frontier Foundation to promote civil liberties, privacy, and security for all things electronic. Through policy analysis, litigation, and grassroots advocacy, they protect technology & online communications for future generations.

wImagine also partners with NumFocus in supporting the Python scientific and open source development community. They ensure that science and innovation is accessible by anybody across the globe.

Our Computer Programming Values

As lovingly copied from the Zen of Python, we adopt these principles in all that we code:

  • Beautiful is better than ugly.
  • Explicit is better than implicit.
  • Simple is better than complex, but complex is better than complicated.
  • Flat is better than nested and sparse is better than dense.
  • Readability counts.
  • Special cases aren’t special enough to break the rules, although practicality beats purity.
  • Errors should never pass silently, unless explicitly silenced.
  • In the face of ambiguity, refuse the temptation to guess.
  • There should be one obvious way to do something (although that way may not be obvious at first).
  • Now is better than never, although never is often better than right now.
  • If the implementation is hard to explain, it’s a bad idea. But, if it’s easy to explain, it may be a good idea.

wImagine Advancement was evolved out of wImagine Academics in 2014.

wImagine Academics was an original goal of wImagine from 2008-2014.
